I just watched President Bush make his speech regarding our course in Iraq. May God have mercy on us! Hopefully this speech will be the motivating factor that congress needs to remind out president that we are a government for and by the people.

    Lord have mercy.

Having gone back to my roots more and sided with Christian pacifism, and recently reading the books of Miroslav Volf has helped me see how what the United States is doing in world affairs is not good, no matter what the outcome of it might be years down the road.

An enforced “peace” by the sword is like the Roman empire. It’s not the answer to the human problem of global conflict. Only in Christ and in God in God’s kingdom can we begin to find it, and ultimately will.
